I believe it is around 33 kilometres from Qualicum Beach to the hospital, not 100 kilometres, as the story stated.
As for the broken limb of his friend, I also broke my arm eight years ago and I went to my doctor in Parksville, who immediately proceeded to place a cast on my arm.
We have all the medical facilities we need for our health in Oceanside.
