I think it is important to recognize the efforts of all the School District 69 Parent Advisory Committees.
I was an education assistant at Qualicum Beach Elementary this year watching the countless hours that parents dedicated to fighting to keep Qualicum Beach Elementary open as the “Heart of the Community.”
When all their efforts were unheard, they were the very same people who took the time out of their busy lives to help teachers pack up every single thing possible because of our school closure.
In all this turmoil and uncertainty, I want to recognize these parents as unsung heroes who are the “Heart of our Community” and no matter where our school is, they are who make it community.
