Writer not quite sure why mayor had a gun in his hand

A question arises from the political article in the June 8 issue of The News.

Your photo of the mayor at the shooting range firing his heavy calibre rifle is of interest to me as a gun owner, but seems very inappropriate for the related article.

I feel the “shot” (no pun intended) may all too easily be misread and may reflect poorly on the sport of target shooting.

Is a member mayor of the FCM wanting to shoot someone in Ottawa?
