Parksville's wonderful beach music

On Saturday evening we presented ourselves at the Parksville boardwalk gazebo to hear 15 or 20 minutes of Irish music and song.

It didn’t happen.

Instead, we were treated to a full two hour concert served up by a man and wife team appearing under the name of Outlander; as consummate a pair of dedicated entertainers as it has been our pleasure to listen to. They performed Irish, Eastern Canadian, some Country, a dash of Rock and Roll, and filled in some breathing time with assorted jokes, without a break of any kind, for that entire time.

They then regaled us with several extra numbers because the next act hadn’t yet arrived; highly talented professionals who clearly love what they do.

Need we mention that the quality of both the singing and the instrumentals were first class?

To those responsible for Outlander’s presence at the closing moments of Beachfest, thank you.

To Outlander themselves, thank you very much for one of the most delightful evenings we have enjoyed in many a long day.
