Reitsma has the commitment

Anyone who knocks on thousands of doors obviously is committed to his goal. Being elected is a serious undertaking, he has served before.

The issue is experience. Are we replacing an experienced councillor and businessman with someone new who needs to learn the ropes and follow staff’s directions, or elect, for two years only, an experienced, visionary person who knows the ropes and all the knots and has proven to be an independent thinker, not afraid to challenge staff reports and debate the issues vigorously?

For me that is our former mayor Paul Reitsma, a small businessman for 30-plus years. He does his homework, is a hard worker and the only candidate who consistently attends the city’s annual budget meetings, asking questions other council members seem afraid to ask.

Anyone who knocks on thousands of doors obviously is committed to his goal. Being elected is a serious undertaking, he has served before.
