Seniors don’t make renovations on their home and they don’t need discounts from the provincial governments to update their second home, which they don’t possess.
What seniors do need is a yearly supplement for home heating so they can stay warm during the coldest days of winter.
They also need help for maintenance and the repair of appliances like fridges, washers and dryers, vacuum cleaners.
When everything is in good working order seniors can look after themselves into their dotage years and can stay in their very own homes.
In European countries like England and Germany seniors are looked after better — yearly supplements ensure a good lifestyle for them. Their respective governments even step in and pay the rent if they are unable to so so.
Think about it. Old people of today were yesterdays young people.
