Smart meter costs

I am asking politicians and the B.C. Utilities Commission to respectfully represent B.C. residents who do not wish to have a smart meter

I am asking politicians and the B.C. Utilities Commission to respectfully represent B.C. residents who do not wish to have a smart meter installed on their premises and find BC Hydro’s opt-out fee choices financially injurious.

I find it difficult to understand why fees are being added to accounts of customers keeping their old meter. Our rates have always included the cost of meter reading.  Surely, the rates of those accepting a smart meter should decrease as meter reading is no longer a cost for those customers. This is an unauthorized rate increase. Where is the political oversight to protect the rights of ordinary families?
