Strata restriction deserves vote of community

Re: Qualicum Beach council hopes to end strata age restrictions (The NEWS, Aug. 22).

As a property owner and taxpayer of Qualicum Beach I feel that it is inappropriate for the council to even attempt to make a bylaw amendment of this potentially divisive nature! To that end I would request that “referendum” be taken which would then fully represent the wishes of our constituency. Let our residents make this major decision.

I request that this referendum proposal be put on the agenda at the council meeting of Sept. 11, 2017, for full consideration.
