It is really, really sad that many people are heartless and don’t want to give the homeless people a chance at a new life.
I was asked to represent KAIROS on the Homelessness Task Force by Councillor Sue Powell, the first chairperson. After all this time with the Task Force, meeting for over seven years with professionals in the field helping and “team” housing so many people in our community, and the need for more housing, how can we turn against people who need help? The host team with mental health support for clients is excellent and will continue its work with the new residents of the planned building.
As Christians, or simply as caring citizens, we should be reconciling wrongs and making things right.
