When reading about the very high standards of safety that park benches in the town of Qualicum Beach must meet, I suspect that only applies to benches that the town can collect funds for memorial plaques.
Perhaps town employees Luke Sales and Tony Botelho should walk over to the town’s tennis courts and look at those benches, which are so decrepit they would not likely meet any standards, with their rotting wood.
Could the city replace them with benches that are not considered “safe enough” for memorial plaques? Still a huge improvement.
