Think of the seniors

We live in an area of a senior majority , yet there is no designated time on the schedule at the Ravensong pool, for seniors to swim.

Ravensong states that “programs at the centre are designed for  all ages and abilities.” Yet if you look at any of the schedules, there is no allotted time for seniors, even though our age group is by far the majority in this area.

As fall and winter approach, with colder, often wet weather, and sometimes icy roads, walking to keep fit and healthy, is not so pleasant. It would be so much appreciated, if we could have a special time, say an hour three mid-mornings per week, where we could meet with our friends, and swim for pleasure and exercise!

Adults only lengths, from noon to 1 p.m., works fine for younger working people, who are usually strong swimmers. The adult swim, from 8:30 to 10 p.m., is difficult for seniors, many of whom are unable to drive at night. We like and need to keep fit as we age, but don’t often have the strength or energy to be lumped in with other age groups as with the present schedules.
