Time for guardrails near embankments

It’s a wonder so many more people are not killed at unprotected spots

I would like to say that where there are ravines along roads there should be a guardrail to stop cars going down embankments.

It’s a wonder so many more people are not killed. One bad spot is just before the bridge coming into Parksville — there’s an embankment on both sides.

My wife had a close call just before Dashwood fire station going into Qualicum Beach. She did a 360 and stopped on the edge of a ravine. The only reason she did not go over was the underside of the car got stuck on small bank and wheels where not in contact with bank.

Until she had this close call we never even noticed there was a ravine there and we must have driven the road thousands of times.
