Volunteers make QB Museum kids day a hit

The annual Qualicum Beach Museum Children’s Day was a real success Aug. 19. Some 256 children and adults came to enjoy this community event at the museum. Activities for the day included a broad range of fun and educational opportunities built around children. We had events from pony riding, face painting and fossil rubbings to guess the artifact, weavers and spinners as well as the QFN preschool group.

All in all, there were many fun and engaging activities throughout the day. Of course the museum grounds and buildings were also open for people to visit the more formal displays and exhibits.

Many thanks to all the volunteers who gave their time to support this community event. Beyond the benefits of the immediate service, many volunteers mentioned they personally enjoyed being part of Children’s Day.

The museum will remain on summer hours, Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until the end of September. From October to the end of May we operate on winter hours, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information about the Qualicum Beach Museum is available from our website at QBMuseum.ca
