My name is Gillian and I go to Winchelsea Elementary school.
Last week, there was no recess for the first time. We had to rush to eat our snack and couldn’t go outside to play.
We used to have 15 minutes, but now we have to eat fast at our desks and get back to work. We didn’t have time to take a break or go outside. We had to wait until lunch time to play outside.
I know that the teachers and the government think this is safer for us. I don’t think so. I think that recess is important.
Usually it’s fun to leave school early. Not today.
