In regards to the article (The News, May 8) “Pot isn’t necessarily safe, says doc,” ... neither is alcohol and cigarettes, but they are legal.
Examine the harm and cost to society caused by these products. It overwhelmingly exceeds that of pot. However, since it can be grown easily it would be a somewhat difficult job to tax. Consequently, keeping it illegal fosters a ridiculous sense of caring for society by governments ... how inane.
