When did we stop stopping at stop signs?

Am I the only person in Parksville who stops for a red light or a stop sign?

Everywhere I go, cars pull around the corner in front of me without stopping at the red light and I have to hit my brakes. They might as well remove all the stop signs in the Save On Foods parking area. No one stops except the car with the right of way.

A guy in a truck with Alberta plates actually held his hand at me to stop when I had my signal on indicating my intention to turn left to the the front of the store as he blew through a stop sign at the side of the store. Had I not hit my brakes I would have hit him.

When I was a kid in a small town, cars were ticketed for a slow rolling stop. Now it feels like drivers are playing chicken at stop signs and red lights as they pull out directly in front of you. You aren’t even safe in the inside lane since half of them pull directly there, committing not one but two traffic violations. Just driving through town to shop has become hazardous. Sad and scary.
