Wrong roundabout location

In regard to the proposed Village Way/Highway 19A roundabout, I agree with letter writer Valerie Melanson (The NEWS, Oct. 7).

In regard to the proposed Village Way/Highway 19A roundabout, I agree with letter writer Valerie Melanson (The NEWS, Oct. 7).

I have lived in Qualicum Beach since 1996 and have never had a problem with that intersection, quite unlike the one at Memorial and Village Way, which I think is one of the worst in an urban area.

All one needs at Highway 19A is a little patience and sensible driving practices, but at Memorial coming into Qualicum you do not have good sight lines down Memorial and half the time you just have to hope for the best and that the vehicle that might come up the hill is going at a sensible speed.

So put a roundabout there — it makes much more sense.
