BMX season is around the corner in QB

Cyclists look forward to a stellar season

 From the desk of new club president Trisha Grecht comes word that volunteers are putting the final touches on improvements to the Eric Goetzinger Track in Qualicum Beach, and the BMX season is just around the corner.

The local BMX club will be hosting its annual New Rider clinic May 2 at the track, located off of Park Rd. in Qualicum Beach, from 6-6:30 p.m. — anyone interested in taking the sport for a test drive is welcome to attend.

The first race of the season goes the following day, Tuesday, May 3. with sign-up from 6-6:30 p.m. and races to follow. Cost for opening night is $10 per rider which includes a clinic.

The Eric Goetzinger BMX Club boasts about 55 riders aged 2-50. This year marks the local tracks’ 10th anniversary — the race season runs from May through to September.
