Crush Slush Cup to wind up Mt. Washington ski season

Annual event set for Sunday, April 22 at Mount Washington Ski Hill

Mount Washington will wrap up a snowy season this Sunday, April 22 with a big splash.

The annual Crush Slush Cup is being held Sunday afternoon and with a season-ending base of over five metres, the mountain has more than enough snow to build an awe-inspiring venue for the event.

A crowd favorite, the event will see participants dress in outrageous attire to straight line it over the giant custom pit of snow-filled water.

The challenge is to cross the pit without getting wet and there are prizes for best costume, best jump and crowd favorite.

The craziness begins at 3:30 p.m. between the alpine lodge and Mtn. Tek.

If you're looking for some last minute deals, Mount Washington is offering $10 ski or snowboard rentals if you book online during the last weekend of operation and two for one ticket deals can be found in participating cases of Vancouver Island Brewery Islander Lager.
