Four Generals played in VIJHL all-star game

Mathieu Jallabert, Ethan Sundstrom, Cam Nickerson and Matt Henwood represent the local team

The 2016 VIJHL all-star game took place this past weekend, with players from the North Division teaming up to take on the South Division.

Quinlan Moore, of the Save-On-Foods Oceanside Generals, managed to score one of the four goals for the North Division team, which was dominated by their counterparts from the south 14-4.

With the all-star game out of the way, the push for the playoffs continues now as teams wind down their seasons and battle it out for seeding in both the north and south divisions.

Four players were representing the Save-On-Foods Oceanside Generals at the all-star game, including forward Mathieu Jallabert, who leads the Generals in scoring with 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists). Forward Ethan Sundstrom (11 goals, 19 assists) and fellow-forward Cam Nickerson (9 goals, 9 assists).

Also headed to the game was Generals’ goaltender Matt Henwood, who has a record of seven wins and five losses on the season, including one shutout success.
