Gens logo evolution

Parksville’s Junior B hockey club seeking help for a new logo

It’s time for a change, says Dave Johnston.

The general manager of the Oceanside Generals hockey club is looking for local talent to help come up with a new design for the team’s logo.

So he’s putting the call out to design experts and other in the community, for a contest to come up with an image synonymous with Generals hockey.

“We are looking for a new logo right away,” said the former coach, now team GM.

Designs can be submitted to Johnston via e-mail — dave@oceansidegenerals.com — or call him at 250-951-4848 for more details.

The Generals management will chose the top designs out of the best submissions. They might use one of them, or aspects of all of the top entries for a single, final team logo.

The winning design will be worn on the team’s new jerseys — in red and white for the 2011-2012 season. The winners — or winners — will also receive prizes from the team, and public recognition for their efforts.
