The Cobras won the relay — and the division playoffs.

Oceanside Minor Baseball’s  House League playoffs wrapped up under clear blue skies last weekend at Springwood Park.

Accroding to OMB president Mike Parlow, the Cobras and Hornets battled to a 9-9 tie after five innings in the Mosquito division.

The Hornets scored 10 runs in the sixth to try and put their opponents away, but the Cobras struck for 10 runs of their own in their half of the inning to win the hardware.

“With their bullpens empty of pitchers, the two speediest teams in the league decided to settle the game on a relay and the Cobras were victorious in a thrilling race by two steps,” said Parlow.

The Pee Wee division saw the Bukluks and the Dawgs in a see-saw battle with the mighty Bukluks pulling away in the late innings.
