Lack of wind curtails sailing events

Another day of light winds greeted the racing fleet of Schooner Cove Yacht Club for their first race of the Spring Race Days.

The first race of the Spring Race Days series took place last weekend with light winds

Another day of light winds, 0 to 5 knots, greeted the racing fleet of Schooner Cove Yacht Club for their first race of  the Spring Race Days.

Six boats vied for the same space at the start line to get whatever advantage was available in the light breeze.

After the start, Shingebiss pulled ahead of the fleet and never looked back, completing the five-mile course in just under two hours.

None of the other boats were able to finish the race within the time limit.

The second race of the day was called off due to the lack of wind.

The next two races are scheduled for April 27, weather permitting.
