Oceanside Minor Hockey Association is keen to grow Canada’s game in Parksville Qualicum Beach.

This coming season, the OMHA will bring lots of newcomers to the ice due in part to two new programs that are available in this region.

This coming Fall, Canadian Tire’s First Shift program will be held in Parksville for the first time, organized and hosted by the Oceanside Junior B Generals.

The First Shift makes hockey accessible, affordable, and safe for new-to-hockey kids aged 6-10. The six-week program focuses on having fun while learning basic hockey skills.

All new equipment is included with registration, which is only $199.

For new-to-hockey kids five-and-under, 11-and-older, or those aged 6-10 who are keen to jump right into their first season of hockey, OMHA has made it affordable to hit the ice with a $99-registration fee for the 2018-2019 season from September to March.

Oceanside Minor Hockey Association has already had about three times as many new-to-hockey registrations as last year and is expecting many more before hockey begins in just over a month.
