Parksville’s Quality Foods Royals took one on the chin up at Inouye/Wallace Field Wednesday night losing 7-0 to the Nanaimo Pirates in BCPBL action.

Temperature at game time was a balmy 12C, and it was raining. The grounds crew had to work the squeegees to start, and the game was called after six complete. Conditions were challenging and both teams had their troubles — the Royals committed six errors, the Pirates one.

Nanaimo was leading 2-0 after two innings and blew it open with three more unanswered runs in the top of the third. It was Parksville’s ninth straight loss.

Bryan Pawlina took the loss on the hill — the Royals used three pitchers that game
