The seventh annual Oceanside Challenge brought out some friendly competition between the men at the Parksville Curling Club.

There were 16 teams in action last weekend as eight teams each from Qualicum Beach and Parksville were split into two categories, the Out of the Hat draw and the Team of Choice draw.

Four teams from each curling club took part in the challenge with the winning teams in each match earning points for each win.

The Qualicum Beach Curling Club took home the Camelot Trophy after winning 6-2 overall. Ron Legrove from the Parksville team was the winner of the 64-man contest to see who could curl it closest to the button.
