Oceanside Generals forward Tyler Gyori has committed to play for the La Ronge Ice Wolves, a junior A team in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for the 2023-24 season.
“I’m thrilled to be signing with the La Ronge Ice Wolves and to have the opportunity to join such a competitive, strong team,” said Gyori, who has been instrumental in the Generals success this season. “I’m excited to bring my gritty work ethic and skills to help contribute to the team’s success.”
The 19-year-old Gyori signed a letter of intent which was welcomed by the Ice Wolves.
“We’re going to be losing some offence this year – and he’s over a point a game,” said Ice Wolves head coach and general manager Kevin Kaminski. “He has a knack for the net, a great work ethic and from what I hear, he’s a very good leader.”
The Rimbey, Alta product had a sensational 2022-23 campaign with the Oceanside Generals in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League, tallying 51 points in 47 games.
Prior to playing junior hockey this season with the Generals, Gyori finished his U18 career with the Red Deer Chiefs AAA program.
