In their last game of 2022, the Generals took on the perrenial powerhouse Storm in a battle of the top two teams in the North Division.

The Generals reeled off six straight goals which the Storm were not able to overcome although twice late in the third period to avoid the shutout.

Tyler Gyori and Brendan Carlson netted two goals apiece, with Parker Klippenstein and Dyce each adding a goal. Johnson had two assists and continue to lead the league in scoring with 24 goals and 37 assists for 61 points.

The 16-year-old Matthew Hutchison posted his 10 win of the season, making 24 saves. He is the league’s top goalie with 10 wins, one loss, and one overtime loss with a 0.938 save percentage and a 1.83 goals against average.

The Generals will be back on the ice on Jan. 5. They head to Victoria to take on the top team in the South Division, the Victoria Cougars, at Archie Browning Arena. Both teams have traded wins so far this season with the Cougars edging the Generals 3-2 on Sept. 29. The Generals avenged that loss with a 4-1 win at Oceanside Place on Nov. 12.
