Oceanside United alone in top spot

Vancouver Island’s two-time defending women’s soccer team’s quest for a three-peat got back on the right foot last Sunday, as Oceanside United blasted the Bandits 6-zip in Campbell River.

Jessica Freeman led the charge with two goals. Shelley Terpstra, Aundrea Freeman, Christina Ciolfi, and Caroline Lambert-Mimnaugh all scored for OU, who bounced back in a big way from a sub par performance the week before.

That win, combined with Campbell River United’s 3-1 loss to the Outlaws, leaves Oceanside alone in first at 4-0 in the nine-team Provincial Cup Island Playdowns; three points up on the three-team logjam in second at 9.
