Oceanside’s ladies of soccer resumed their run at another Island title with a 6-1 lambasting of the Legends in Courtenay last Sunday.

All Oceanside United from the opening whistle, Angelina Gastaldello led the charge with a hat trick, Sue Maltby struck for two goals and Aundrea England added the single.

The win lifts OU to a perfect 6-0 in the Provincial Cup Island playdowns and tightens their grip on top spot in the 10-team league with 18 points  — three points up on second place Nanaimo (5-1) and six up on the Legends who are sitting third at 4-3.

Oceanside United is gunning for its 3rd straight Island title and third consecutive berth in the B.C.s.
