Parksville Qualicum Beach lawn bowlers earn silver, bronze at national tournament

Parksville Qualicum Beach lawn bowlers were high rollers at the 2022 Canadian Seniors Triples Championships, held in Victoria recently.

Qualicum Beach Lawn Bowling Club’s president Lynn Chwartacki earned a silver medal with teammates from White Rock Sharon Baldwin and Kathy Harms, who finished second behind the eventual winners from Saskatchewan consisting of Rachel Larson, Heather Howard and Eileen McLelland. They lost 18-9 in the final.

Also finishing in the top three, collecting a bronze medal were the B.C. champions from the Parksville Lawn Bowling Club Sandra Mitchell, Christine Fereday and Carol Bucyk, who crushed the Ontario trio of Glenda Courtice, Sandy Weatherall and Theresa Bester 17-8.

The championships featured teams from the provinces of Nova Scotia, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
