Parksville’s girls fastball teams of all ages are doing well all over the province.

Last weekend the U16 Rage went undefeated at a Strawberry Vale tournament.

The sun came out as the Rage — coached by Sheryl McNichol and Greg Roy — played five tight games against Langford, Peninsula and Duncan.

Peninsula led for most of the final game before the Rage pulled it together and did what they do best, hit. Parksville earned seven runs in the final inning to win 11-4.

The U16 girls have been working hard and are aiming to compete in the 2013 provincials in Chilliwack mid July.

The Parksville U18 B Rage girls also competed last weekend at a tournament in Kelowna.

Battling a lot of good teams the Parksville girls earned a hard fought fifth place finish.

The team is hosting their annual golf fundraiser June 8 at the Eagle Crest golf course. Call Kris at 250-954-7510 for more information.

Also, the Parksville U12 girls have two teams this year, the Red Rage and Black Rage. Both teams won their games at this year’s opening ice breaker tournament in Nanaimo.

This group of girls appear poised to start moving up the ranks.
