The annual Qualicum Beach Triathlon is back.
After being on hold for two years due to COVID-19, organizers of the popular event have decided to stage it June 26 at Ravensong pool and the surrounding roads and trails. The event is also a qualifier for the world duathlon, which entails a run
Registration will start on April 1 online at www.qualicumbeachtriathlon.com.
The different events are for Adult (18-plus) individual or relay: 400-metre swim, 20.5-kilometre bike, 5-km run; Youth (12-17) individual or relay: 200m swim, 12.3-km bike, 2.5-km run; Minor (8-11) individual or relay: 100m swim, 4.1-km bike, 1-km run; Tiny Tri (4-7) individual: width of pool, short bike, short run; and Duathlon (15-plus) individual: 5-km run, 20.5-km bike, 2.5-km run.

While organizers are excited to stage this event again they also need help ensure the success of the triathlon. They currently need three or four people to be members of the planning committee and also up to 50 race day volunteers to help in the pool, transition area, bike course and the run course.
