QB curling club banner honors Team Noble

The Qualicum &District Curling Club raised a banner to recognize the BC Senior Curling Championship won by the local rink led by Lynne Noble in February.

The Qualicum & District Curling Club raised a banner to recognize the BC Senior Curling Championship won by the local rink led by Lynne Noble in February.

Skip Noble and her crew of Penny Shantz of Parksville, second Colleen Robson of Courtenay and lead Kathy Branch of Comox took the gold at the provincial championships and earned the right to represent British Columbia at the 2017 Everest Canadian Seniors Curling Championships held in Fredericton, N.B., in March.

The team, representing the Qualicum & District Curling Club, finished third at the national championships after beating Alberta in the bronze-medal final. The club held the banner-raising ceremony on Oct. 14. The banner reads, “Home of the 2017 BC Senior Women’s Curling Champions.”
