The Ravensong Waterdancers are starting a new program called AquaGo.

It is the club’s introductory level to artistic swimming and provides athletes with basic skills that establish the foundations of the unique sport.

“We focus on building the athlete’s self-confidence in the water in a fun and inclusive manner,” the club stated via press release. “We run two 10-week sessions a year, October to December and January to March.”

The club’s fall session ends on Dec. 15 with the ‘See It Try It’ event where swimmers can watch a performance and then get in the water and try it out. The new session will start on Jan. 3 and the club welcomes new swimmers to come out and join.

The AquaGo program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays and has two time slots – 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $85 per month. There is also a $50 registration fee and a $50 fundraising fee.

Ravensong Waterdancers also has a competitive program. This year there is a Novice Provincial Stream team and a senior Provincial Stream Solo. These athletes have attended two training camps so far this year. Ahead, in the new year, they will compete in regional and provincial meets.
