Qualicum Beach golf course co-hosts golf championship

More than 200 golfers from across the country competing

Golfers from across Canada will be descending on Pheasant Glen Golf Resort this weekend.

Pheasant Glen is co-hosting the first two rounds of 2018 Canadian Men’s Amateur championships Aug. 6 and 7 along with Duncan Meadows. The championship rungs Aug. 6-9 at the two locations.

More than 200 golfers are competing in the event with at least two of those golfers from Parksville Qualicum Beach.

Pheasant Glen will also be hosting two days of practice rounds Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 4 and 5). Golfers will be competing on the local course Monday and Tuesday from about 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In a blog post from Pheasant Glen, it reads that in November of 2016, Pheasant Glen received a request from Golf Canada to be the co-host of the 114th Canadian Amateur Golf Championship.

Most recently, Pheasant Glen hosted the BC Men’s Amateur Championship in 2016. The course has also been host to one other Canadian championship and two provincial tournaments over the years.
