The Regional District of Nanaimo Recreation Department has lined up a number of activities during Active Aging Week, Oct. 3 to Oct. 8.
All the activities are free of charge and are intended to highlight the many opportunities the RDN offers for older adults to remain healthy and active.
This is a worldwide yearly event that aims to inspire seniors to exercise and be active by offering them the means to experience friendly, safe and fun activities.
It is also an opportunity for residents to meet other people and also try out some of the many activities that include yoga, tai chi, line dancing, swimming, tighten and tone fitness, walking, ball drumming, indoor lawn bowling, and floor curling.
If you attend at least five events, you are entered to win a $25 SOS Thrift Shop gift certificate.
