Shoppers Drug Mart golf tournament for Haven House

Raffles, prizes and fun for a good cause at Qualicum Beach Memorial

Shoppers Drug Mart is hosting it’s inaugural fundraising golf tournament Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Qualicum Beach Memorial Golf Club.

“It’s going to be really fun,” said event organizer Lori White. “We have tons of prizes and it’s not going to be really competitive.”

White said the tournament is an effort to raise more money on top of Shoppers Drug Mart’s annual Tree of Life campaign.

Tournament registration is at 11:30 a.m. with a shot-gun start at 12:30 p.m.

Entry fee into the tournament is $60 per person which includes 18 holes of golf, prizes and a pizza buffet.

The tournament is open to everybody, however there will be a cap on the maximum number of golfers entered into the competition.

White said raffle prizes include a $1,000 French Creek fishing charter, passes to Bear Mountain in Victoria, a river rafting tour in Campbell River and a $300 gift certificate for indoor/outdoor renovations.

All proceeds will be donated to the local Parksville Qualicum Beach Haven House, which provides temporary shelter and support for women and children who have experienced violence and are seeking safety while exploring their options.
