From Orlando comes word the Parksville Royals’ ace, southpaw Clayton Isherwood, continues to impress in his time with the Canadian Junior National baseball team.

Isherwood and the Jr. Nats took to the field against the extended Spring Training club of the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball recently.

The Canadians would give up runs in three straight innings en route to a 9-1 loss, but according to the Baseball Canada website, “starting pitcher Clayton Isherwood had another impressive outing on the mound as he threw three scoreless innings, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out one batter ... Isherwood worked his way out of trouble in the third, when he managed to get two pop-outs with runners on first and second base and only one out.”
