From the desk of Oceanside Minor Baseball president Mike Parlow some dates of note:
• OMB will be hosting an Umpire Clinic April 14 at Kwalikum Secondary School. The clinic starts at 9 a.m. (doors open at 8:45). Level 1 finishes at approximately 3 p.m. and Level 2 at 4 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and lunch is provided courtesy of Parksville Boston Pizza. Please bring clean shoes for work in the gym, as well as outdoor footwear for field activities.
• April 28 is Oceanside Minor Baseball’s official Opening Day at Springwood Park. Games begin in the morning and continue throughout the day and ceremonies will begin around noon. Thanks once again to Save-On Foods, our league sponsor, who will be providing complimentary hot dogs and refreshments for players.
• Team pictures will be held May 1 and 2 at Springwood Park next to the Rotary Building and Inouye-Wallace field.
