The Amazing Hair Studio in French Creek is doing some amazing things for the Salvation Army Food Bank.
Salon owner Kleja Talmanis regularly collects food for the agency at her studio located at the French Creek Marina which she opened in October 2010.
Talmanis said anyone who brings in a food donation has their name entered into a contest to win a free haircut. She makes a draw four times a year saying it is a way to give back and she said the community has always been generous.
“Some clients bring in bags of food, others just one can, but it all adds up,” she stated.
Salvation Army Major Rolf Guenther agreed and said the small businesses in Oceanside may not be able to donate a pallet of food, but a box of groceries makes a big difference because they need a steady supply of food year round and in the long run it all helps.
