Carved bench finds new home in Qualicum Beach’s East Village

The East Village in Qualicum Beach has a new carved bench where people can sit for a rest or for photo op.

The bench that was created during the ‘Out of the Woods’ carving event has been placed in a nice spot in the East Village. It provides a striking art piece as well as enhances the gathering area.

The bench, created by carvers Jerry Strelioff, Shea Larking and Mandy Chalmers, was sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76 and donated to the town.

Mayor Brian Wiese and Coun. Teunis Westbroek attended the installation of the bench on June 17 and where the first to try it out and got their photos taken.
