Children from a Parksville family, who have been selling lemonade to fundraise for their brother battling brain cancer, will be at a craft fair in Qualicum Beach on Friday, Aug. 27.
Organizers of the craft fair, Cherilynn Toll and Leah Wuolle-Page, said they reached out to the Hohnstein family after learning of their efforts in a PQB News article.
“I’ve been through a lot of life-altering events,” said Wuolle-Page. “And I remember people that reached out to me and just put their arms around me and supported me. And I felt this was a great opportunity to give back.”

The first craft fair by Toll and Wuolle-Page was held in 2019, with the intention of holding another in 2020 before Christmas. However, with COVID cases still on the rise at that time, said Toll, they decided to postpone the second event until later in 2021.
She said the fair will have approximately 12 vendors, and attendees can expect to find numerous artisan pieces such as woodworking, salad bowls, trinket boxes, homemade pies and stained glass.
David Adams of A La Cart Hot Dog will also be at the fair and will donate 10 per cent of all sales to the Hohnstein family’s cause.
The fair will be on Aug. 27, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m., at two separate addresses; 1197 and 1191 Clubhouse Dr. in Qualicum Beach.
The event will be following and encouraging any COVID-19 protocols in place.
