Community members are invited to participate in re-painting the Legacy Labyrinth and Parksville Community Park.

On Saturday, Aug. 25, starting at 10 a.m., the community is welcome to help with the painting.

But the re-painting begins Friday, Aug. 24 starting at 10 a.m., according to Holly Carnegie Letcher who is organizing the re-painting.

“Even if they are not ‘artists,’ there are parts that everyone can contribute to. I have people approach me from the first time we painted that say with satisfaction, ‘See, I painted the inside of that seastar,’” Letcher said.

Letcher said there are artists from all over the Island coming to volunteer their time and expertise “to renew the labyrinth that is walked by thousands every year.”

She said the Parksville Legacy Labyrinth was created for the 15th annual International Labyrinth Gathering in 2013 (Labyrinths for Global Healing, Landscapes for the Soul) that was held in Parksville, and the first time ever in Canada.
