A little Christmas Magic will be missing at Milner Gardens and Woodland this holiday season.

This annual family festival of lights and music has been a mainstay at Milner Gardens in Qualicum Beach every Christmas for close to two decades.

But due to COVID-19 restrictions, Vancouver Island University is unable to hold the event this year. B.C.’s provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, has extended the ban on public and social gatherings.

Milner Gardens has halted a number of its ongoing events and activities that included guided tours and tea service. In the spring and fall it had to cancel its plant sale and other traditional events.
