The MAC’s external exhibit at Cafe Adagio features the work of Donna Hales for June.
After retiring, Hales moved to Victoria, and then to Sidney, where her art interests began.
She said she joined the Saanich Peninsula Arts & Crafts Society in Sidney and took part in many shows at the Sidney Civic Centre. She also had work hung in the Saanich Peninsula Hospital.
From there, Hales moved to Abbotsford, Mission and then Summerland where she joined the Pleasure Painters Group.
After her husband passed away, she moved back to the Island. She said most of her paintings are done in the provincial parks.
The opening reception for Hale’s external exhibit Cafe Adagio is Saturday, June 4 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Café Adagio (147 Harrison Ave., Parksville) is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
