Salvation Army Major Rolf Guenther and Save-On-Foods operations manager Maurie Robinson are hoping for a strong response to their project.

What do the Salvation Army and B.C. Children’s hospital have in common?

In Parksville anyway, they have a special program being run by Save-On-Foods.

Operations manager Maurie Robinson said the plan is to offer $8 bags of food for sale at the store for the discounted rate of $5, with all funds raised going towards B.C. Children’s Hospital and all the food being donated to the Salvation Army food bank.

The promotion will run right through the May long weekend.
