It’s been over 60 years since Helen Lee of Nanaimo rode a motorcycle, but on Canada Day she turned 97 years old and she decided it was high time to do something about that.
On her bucket list, said friend Jim Davidson, was to ride a big hog to the Nanoose Bay Evangelical Free Church.
“They met her at the Nanoose Petrocan and drove up Northwest Bay Road and then in to the church,” Davidson said. “She had a ball.”
Pastor Chris Wilson and the exuberant congregation waited outside in anticipation of her arrival with a small Canada flag waving in each hand riding on the back of Jason Kristiansen’s 2003 Honda Shadow.
