The third annual Mushroom Festival is coming back to the North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre later this month.
Co-hosted by NIWRA and Arrowsmith Naturalists, the Mushroom Festival is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 15, from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Last year, more than 1,000 people attended the one-day festival.
Admission is by a suggested donation of $5 each, while children aged 12 and under can attend for free.
The festival will feature mushroom displays, food trucks, educational speakers, vendor tables and an ask an expert booth.
This year, the Salvation Army will be partnering with NIWRA to provide a shuttle service for people’s ease and convenience. Park at 1500 Grafton Rd. (east of Errington Road) and shuttle to NIWRA.
As a “thank you” for this service, NIWRA encourages all visitors to this event to bring non-perishable food items for the local food bank.
