No shortage of spooky fun in Oceanside area

From haunted houses to dances and parties, it's spooktacular!

Halloween is a spooky time in District 69 with activities in every corner, ranging from pumpkin-lit trails to a character-filled candy walk. Happy Halloween from The NEWS. Be safe and have fun:

Happening October 31:

Coombs:

• Magic of Halloween Candy Walk at the Coombs Fairgrounds. Candy walk, little goblin cake walk, concession and fireworks. 6 - 8 p.m.

Errington:

• Halloween Pumpkin Trail Walk in the Errington Community Park. Free hot chocolate, enchanted storytelling and fireworks. 6:30 - 8 p.m.

Meadowood/Dashwood:

• Meadowood Park Spooky Walk, bonfire,  goodie bag, kids games room, concession and fireworks. 1800 Galvin Place across from the Fire Station in Meadowood. 6 - 9 p.m. (fireworks at 8 p.m.)

Parksville:

• Pumpkin Walk at Foster Park. Forest trails lined with 350 carved, lit pumpkins, plus what residents bring. Entrance by donation. Free goodie bags donated by RE/MAX Realtor Peter Zimmerman.

 

 

Hot dogs and hot chocolate available. Corner of Pym Street and Sanderson Road in Parksville. 7 to 9:15 p.m.

• Pumpkin Rush along Resort Drive. 400 pumpkins lit from 6 to 8 p.m. Come vote for your favourite and grab a treat from participating resorts.

• Halloween Skate. Wear a costume and come skating prior to trick or treating. Spooky fun awaits at Oceanside Place Arena. Special rate. 3:45 - 5:15 p.m.

• Qualicum Beach:

 

• Halloween celebrations and fireworks at the back of the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre. Enjoy some spooky sights on the trail from the Civic Centre to the Community Park. Free hot dogs and hot chocolate. 6:30 - 8 p.m.
